Enlighten is a professional teeth whitening treatment that helps you achieve a brighter, natural-looking smile safely under the care of a dentist. Using custom-made whitening trays and professional gels, you whiten your teeth at home over around three weeks. Your dentist will first check that whitening is suitable for you.
After your dentist has checked that whitening is suitable for you, we take a digital scan or moulds of your teeth. Your custom-made Enlighten trays are then crafted to fit precisely over your teeth, holding the whitening gel evenly so you can use the treatment safely at home.
You collect your Enlighten kit with clear instructions and wear the trays with the night-time whitening gel for around 14 consecutive nights. In the third week, you complete the treatment with the final Enlighten gel, worn for a short time each day to enhance and finish the result. Your dentist guides you throughout.
With good care, the results of your Enlighten whitening can last for many years. To keep your smile looking its best, your dentist may recommend Enlighten toothpaste and occasional top-up whitening – usually one night every 4 to 8 weeks – using trays and gel provided by your dentist.
If your teeth feel sensitive, an anti-sensitivity toothpaste can help to ease this. Avoiding cigarettes, as well as drinks that can stain teeth such as red wine, coffee and tea, will also help your results last as long as possible. It’s also important to keep up good oral health, so brush and floss daily, use your Enlighten toothpaste and visit your dentist and hygienist for regular check-ups.
