What is Zoom teeth whitening?

Zoom teeth whitening  is a cutting-edge bleaching  treatment and it's used to lighten teeth. This in-office treatment uses the innovative Zoom Advanced Power Lamp to enhance the bleaching process. The light activates the Zoom teeth whitening gel, which in turn allows oxygen to enter the enamel and dentin, bleaching away stains and discolouration.

Benefits of Zoom whitening

  • Fast – A white smile can be achieved in just one appointment – perfect for busy lifestyles or special occasions.
  • Safe – Zoom whitening is gentle on enamel and dental restorations (although it’s unsuitable for porcelain and bonding materials).
  • Immediate results  – Zoom can whiten teeth up to eight to eleven shades lighter!

The procedure

Your dentist will clean your teeth before your treatment begins. Your lips and gums will then be covered for protection. Next, the Zoom teeth whitening gel is applied to your teeth – it contains hydrogen peroxide for exceptional results. The Zoom light is used in combination with the gel to activate the whitening properties and eradicate stains and discolouration.

The treatment lasts a total of 45 minutes: the gel is applied to the teeth for three 15 minute sessions using the Zoom light. Once the treatment is completed, a special fluoride gel will be applied to your teeth to reduce sensitivity.

To prolong your teeth whitening, your dentist will provide you with a Zoom touch-up kit to use at home. The kit includes custom-made whitening trays for you to use according to your dentist’s instructions. Your dentist may also recommend whitening toothpastes to use after your treatment.

To help your results last as long as possible, it’s important to keep a good dental health regime (daily brushing and flossing). Regular appointments with your dentist and hygienist also help keep your teeth white and fresh. Avoid smoking and drinking certain beverages prone to staining teeth, such as, tea, coffee and red wine.

Are there any side effects?

Some patients experience sensitive teeth after the Zoom treatment. In rare cases, minimal tingling is also experienced. However, these side effects are short-lived. Before your treatment, asking your dentist for an anti-sensitivity toothpaste may help.

How much does it cost?

Although the exact price varies depending on the dentist you use, expect to pay at least £300 per Zoom whitening treatment
