What is Enlighten teeth whitening?

The Enlighten teeth whitening treatment is the only system that can achieve the lightest shade possible (B1), while looking completely healthy and natural. The procedure is very simple, consisting of a two-week bleaching treatment at home, followed by a one-hour session with your dentist at London Teeth Whitening Clinic.

Benefits of Enlighten whitening

  • Only treatment that guarantees lightest shade (B1)
  • Noticeable results in just two to four weeks after treatment begins
  • No need for lights, gingival protection or dehydration whitening
  • Custom-made whitening trays used for best results (e.g. larger reservoir provided for darker teeth)
  • Includes anti-sensitivity serum to reduce sensitivity
  • Uses a lower concentration of gel than other treatments
  • Long-lasting results with the help of occasional touch-ups

The procedure

Step one: Your custom-made trays are crafted from impressions of your teeth. The trays hold a  carbamide peroxide whitening gel and fit precisely over your teeth, allowing you to use them safely at home. Carbamide peroxide is safer than hydrogen peroxide, although it gradually turns into hydrogen peroxide when applied to your teeth.

Step two: You receive the special gel to use at home in preparation for the deep bleaching in-office at a later date.

You wear the trays with the bleaching gel over your teeth each night for a total of fourteen consecutive nights. This gives enough time for the low-concentration whitening gel to make an impact on your teeth.

Step three: After two weeks have passed, you visit your dentist for the deep bleaching treatment. Your lips and gums will be protected, leaving only your teeth exposed. A hydrogen peroxide gel is placed on your teeth, and the Enlighten light is then shone over it. The treatment usually lasts no more than one hour.

How long do results last for?

The results of your Enlighten whitening treatment will last many years. It may be necessary to re-whiten your teeth with the same procedure two to three years later. Alternately, you can wear home-whitening mouth trays with whitening gel provided by your dentist whenever you feel the need.

If your teeth are sensitive, use an anti-sensitivity toothpaste to minimise sensitivity. Avoiding cigarettes, as well as drinks that stain teeth (red wine, coffee, and tea), will also help your results last as long as possible. It’s also important to keep in good oral health, so brush and floss your teeth daily, and visit your dentist and hygienist for regular appointments.

How much does it cost?

The cost of Enlighten teeth whitening generally starts from £450.

Will Enlighten whitening work on my dental restorations?

Enlighten whitening only whitens natural teeth. It doesn't work on porcelain or bonding materials. You may need to have your dental restorations cleaned or changed to match the colour of your newly whitened teeth.
